Match report An appaling performance which highlighted the reasons Frinton gained promotion and we didn't. When Rich was bowled by the excellent Plant, to the first ball he received, we should have known it wasn't to be our day. Pip was then given LBW, for the first of Patels 6 victims, by Matt Wake and this was to cause ruptions that left a nasty taste to the day just to add the mess we were already in. Minor repairs were made by the Perrins before a mix up in their running brought about a run out and shortly after Craig edged a wide delivery through to the keeper and then the doors really fell in. Patel rode his luck but three bowled and 2 LBWS tell the story of straight bowling and poor batting.

It took Frinton just 15.2 overs to score the runs that would guarantee their promotion, cue wild celebrations. At least we had the satisfaction of getting Clements out cheaply once again but the fact remained that this was a performance lacking any application, team spirit or skill. Frinton handed us a reminder of what is required if next season is to be more successful.
