Great Bromley and District Cricket Club Saturday XI v Boxted on Sat 07 Aug 2010 at 1 pm
Great Bromley and District Cricket Club Lost by 7 wickets

Match report Inept, shocking, apalling, pathetic. Just some of the words to sum up Craigs batting of late. ha ha no these words do not even begin to describe how bad we were today against an efficient Boxted side, a side we are more than capable of beating but not with a performance like this.
Once again short of players, we had 2 debutants playing, Ben Gallifant and Richard Hunt both look likely to be needed again as the alarming lack of commitment recently has now taken its toll on results , remember the Witham game? Batting first on a damp but drying wicket shouldnt have been a massive problem but Craig(more catches than runs)Perrin was out in the second over and got the first duck i can remeber seeing him get, Chasing a wide one from Gilbert whos first 5 balls were all out of reach but the 6th was just reachable and Craig nicked it. Louis, his 134 fresh in the mind didnt last long either, he missed out on a half tracker from Sexton then proceeded to tamely offer up a catch to mid-on next ball. Not the start we were looking for and it got worse, liam, who never looked settled edged behind to give Pearce his second catch. Nick was next to go, again getting an edge this time from the metronomical Booker, first slip taking a simple catch, 36-4. Joe and Matt W then offered a little resistance carrying the score to 60 before Joe took a wild swing at a straight one (thats not like him!)60-5 or should i say 60-7, jack falling for a duck and poor old Ben who didnt even face a ball before Matt ran him out, with mates like him.....We were now looking at the tail and really needed Matt to protect them. He did his best and Richard hung around to take the score to the lofty heights of 84 before Matt holed out. Only 1 more run was added, Sam getting a golden, 85 allout. Booker ,hes not a looker, finishing with 5 for 28. Like i say pathetic, inept, useless....

We decided not to take tea and let Boxted have a go at chasing the massive 86 required. Matt and Ben both bowled well and desperately tried to gain us some pride. Ben was unlucky (not his day) not to take a wicket but Matt again got 2 from his accurate 7 overs. Louis took a third but there was never any chance of making a game of it and only 1 point was gained from this excuse of a performance. Matt W, Ben, Richard and Adam can hold there heads up but the rest of us need to pull our fingers out, but at least we were here!
